Turismo Noruega

Após dois séculos de ataques vikings, na Europa, o cristianismo foi gradualmente introduzido na Noruega, no século 10. Em 1397, a Noruega foi absorvida em uma união com a Dinamarca, que durou mais de quatro séculos. Em 1814, os noruegueses resistiram a cessão de seu país para a Suécia e adotaram uma nova constituição. A Suécia, então, invadiu a Noruega, mas concordou em dar autonomia aos noruegueses, em troca da união sob a coroa sueca.

Em 1905, a Noruega conquistou a independência.

A descoberta de petróleo e gás em águas norueguesas, nos anos 1960, impulsionou a economia do País.

Climate: Temperate along coast, modified by North Atlantic Current; colder interior with increased precipitation and colder summers; rainy year-round on west coast.

Ports and harbors: Bergen, Drammen, Floro, Hammerfest, Harstad, Haugesund, Kristiansand, Larvik, Narvik, Oslo, Porsgrunn, Stavanger, Tromso, Trondheim.

Note: about two-thirds mountains; some 50,000 islands off its much indented coastline; strategic location adjacent to sea lanes and air routes in North Atlantic; one of most rugged and longest coastlines in world.
